Ya Kurban

I absolutely love the way the great and versatile Mohammed Rafi has rendered this song to fit the heritage of the film's character. Are they singing about their women or their beloved Afghanistan? That's the beauty of filmi qawwali.  I did not translate this one because the video has subtitles and although they have taken liberties and have made a few mistakes, for the most part it's accurate and conveys the sentiment.

Film: Kabuliwala
Singer: Rafi, chorus
Lyrics: Prem Dhawan
MD: Salil Chowdhary

O Ya Qurbaan, Woh Aankhen Thay Dilbar Ki, Yaan Nargise-e-Mastana
Dekhe Huye Us Butt Ko Ab Ho Gaya Zamaana
O Saba Kehna Mere Dildaar Ko
Dil Tadapta Hai Tere Deedar Ko
O Saba Kehna Mere Dildaar Ko
Dil Tadapta Hai Tere Deedar Ko
O Saba Kehna Mere Dildaar Ko
Dil Tadapta Hai Tere Deedar Ko
O Saba Kehna Mere Dildaar Ko
Dil Tadapta Hai Tere Deedar Ko
Loshay!

O Ya Qurbaan, Dekhenge Kabh Woh Surat, Jis Pe Bahaar Sadqe
Yeh Dil Tau Kya Hai Yaaro Kabul Kandahar Sadqe
Kis Tarah Bhoole Nigaah-e-Yaar Ko
Dil Tadapta Hai Tere Deedar Ko
O Saba Kehna Mere Dildaar Ko
Dil Tadapta Hai Tere Deedar Ko
O Saba Kehna Mere Dildaar Ko
Dil Tadapta Hai Tere Deedar Ko
O Saba Kehna Mere Dildaar Ko
Dil Tadapta Hai Tere Deedar Ko
Loshay! O Sadqe!

O Ya Qurbaan, Kaise Hai Yeh Qayamat? Ho Tu Hi Bata Khudaya
Jitna Bhulaya Us Ko, Utna Woh Yaad Aaya!
Kya Qaraar Aaye Tere Bimar Ko?
Dil Tadapta Hai Tere Deedar Ko
O Saba Kehna Mere Dildaar Ko
Dil Tadapta Hai Tere Deedar Ko
O Saba Kehna Mere Dildaar Ko
Dil Tadapta Hai Tere Deedar Ko
O Saba Kehna Mere Dildaar Ko
Dil Tadapta Hai Tere Deedar Ko
Loshay!
